Kárim acted as Chair of the Environmental Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro – AMCHAM (2012–2019). She was professor and coordinator of the Environmental Law Course at FGV-RJ (2004–2012) and affiliate professor of Environmental Law at Georgia State University (2005–2009). She was also an associate at Veirano Advogados from 1997 to 2013. She is specialized in Environmental Law.
