The Central Bank disclosed last Friday the leak of personal data of 160,100 Pix keys under the responsibility of the company Acesso Soluções de Pagamento between December 3rd and 5th, 2021. According to the Central Bank, the information leaked referred only to registration data (username, CPF, branch and account numbers), which does not make it possible to move funds, neither sensitive data such as passwords and balances. The Central Bank also informed that people who had their data leaked would be notified through the company's app Acesso or through internet banking.
In view of the new leak of Pix keys, our partner Cecilia Choeri talked to the newspaper O Globo about the precautions to be taken by people who had their data exposed. According to Cecilia, if someone receives a communication from the telephone company saying "thank you for opening a new account", they should be alert. The recommendation, she says, is not to click on the link and to look for a reliable source to check the veracity of that information.
