The change announced by the messaging application WhatsApp, which will allow the user to hide when he went "online", ended up raising another debate: that of the right to disconnection. The concept deals with the prerogative that every worker has to be able to use the time outside of their workday for rest/leisure activities or any other non-work activities.
To comment on the topic, our lawyer specialized in Labor Law, Michelle Pimenta Dezidério, participated in Canaltech's podcast. In addressing the matter, Michelle emphasized that the right to rest is already provided by law. Therefore, she believes that it is not necessary to adapt the labor legislation, but rather to adapt the conduct of both the company and the employee. The lawyer also specifically addressed WhatsApp as a working tool.
