A new milestone in Competition Law

In July, the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) of the Chamber of Deputies approved the bill that creates incentive mechanisms for remedy actions for damages caused by cartels and other illicit actions against the economic order. In view of the decision, our partner Pedro Paulo Salles Cristofaro wrote an article for the newspaper Estadão, emphasizing that the measure may represent a new milestone in Competition Law in Brazil.

Pedro Paulo highlighted the main aspects of the bill and commented on the importance of the Competition Law and its development in the country, especially in the administrative sphere, with the presence of CADE. He also talked about the Antitrust Law and emphasized that the most common examples of illegal conduct correspond to cartels and abuse of a dominant position.
